A Different Kind of Care
Zelena Medicine was founded on the idea that deep healing is about more than following wellness fads, hacks, or quick-fix promises for a cure.
“Zelena”translates to “green” in Mishe’s ancestral language (Bulgarian), and invokes the medicine of nature and our incredible built-in capacity to heal and repair. It also connects healing with our need for belonging, interconnectedness, ancestry, story, and the ecosystems of our lives.
Zelena Medicine leans on treatments with depth, and clinical accountability. While the work is practical, results-oriented, and focused on meaningful change that shows up in daily life, healing is not just about the treatments offered, but also about the way care is delivered. It is grounded, relational, and attentive to the full human experience of illness and healing.
We believe that feeling deeply seen, supported, and valued is an integral part of deep healing.
Meet Mishe Skenderova
Hi. I’m a clinician and the founder of Zelena Medicine. I hold a Master of Science degree and am nationally board certified (NCBAHM) and licensed (CO) to practice acupuncture and holistic Eastern medicine.
Despite my non-traditional training, my work has been shaped by years in traditional medical settings, from inpatient physical rehabilitation to the oncology infusion room. I also carry the experience of both a clinician and a cancer survivor. Finding myself on the other side of the hospital gown with a serious life-altering reinforced the importance of care that is not only clinically grounded, but also emotionally honest, and able to meet people in the complexity we’re living with. Zelena Medicine was born out of that experience.
